Helena Rubinstein

Helena was born in Poland in 1870. She was the oldest sister of eight. Her father wanted her to be a doctor. She didn’t want to and she left to Australia to live with her cousin. She took with her 12 jars of cream. She couldn’t speak English and she had no money. She started to sell her cream. She was a workaholic. In 1908, she opened her first shop in London and after that, in Paris, America, and Canada. She was ruthless. She bought possessions and people and she was strange about her money. She died at 94 years old. I think her personality was almost likes Soichiro Honda. All of them were workaholics and worked hard. Also she was strange like Howard Huges. I think she had a bad childhood so that is why she was strange. On the positive side she was a creative and over achieving person. If she were alive now, I think she would be an actress in Hollywood and she will say “I am still a beauty queen!”

Jack’s

  Jack’s is a nice resturant and night club located in La Jolla. It has three stories with different kinds of music [hip hop , house and techno] also there are different resturants in one place. It’s a very cultural and famous place. The food is delicious as are the cocktails, but I think the dance floor is small because of the crowds. some people think that there are stuck up customers. In general the atmosphere is nice and comfortable . Also the seata are comfortable in the VIP area. The service is good espically in the VIP area. some people think that it’s a cougar bar, but as for me, Ididn’t see any thing like that. Also they have valet parking for $8. In conclusion, I recommend visiting  Jack’s if you get a chance.

 

Murphy’s law

One month ago,my friend and I wanted to travel to Spain and we couldn’t get a flight reservation. Finally,we got two spots on the day after, so I packed my luggage and waited for my friend for two hours but he didn’t come. The flight was in two hours. I called him many times finally, he came and because we were late, we went quickly to the airport. While we were on the way, he told me that he forgot his luggage at my home,.”Oh no! ” I said. So we went back to my home and we took the luggage in a hurry. After that, we drove quickly to the airport . Finally, we arrived at the airport in perfect time . The flight was in a half hour. “Oh no,” my friend said. I forgot my passport. I was very angry with my friend and I didn’t speak with him for one week because we couldn’t catch the flight to Spain because of him. I had a boring vacation.

        I was  an angel when i was child. I didn’t argue a lot nor cry a lot nor was I stubborn.  I was obedient and honest. For me it isn’t a problem if you spank your child sometimes. Also, you can discipline your child by not speaking with him or her or by making him or her stay home. When I was a child I didn’t have any friends who misbehaved. All of my friends were angels. I think children behave differently in other countries because it depends on the parent’s behavior and the traditions of the country. If I could be a child again I would relive the same childhood.

    My partner’s name is Kevin. He is from France but he is now living in Switzerland. His birthday is on December  12, 1991 and his hobby is playing soccer. His ambitions are to go to an American university and to become a rich man. He has been to many countries like England, Spain, Italy and America. The country that he likes the most is America. An interesting experience that he had was meeting a famous soccer player named Anelka. Finally his best day in America was a big party with his friends.
